A baby’s skin has got to be the most velvety soft substance on earth. That delicate skin makes babies and toddlers more vulnerable to sun damage, and to the chemicals in sunscreens intended to protect them.

But parents looking for advice on how best to shield very young children from the sun can have a hard time coming up with solid recommendations. There’s a good reason for that; almost all studies on sun exposure and sunscreen are done in adults.

OMG Twins!

My husband and I had a little girl. When she was three months old I had one period, and the next month I didn’t have one. I thought, … So I took a test, and yup … it came back and said yes, I was pregnant. I went to the doctor and they told me that I’m having twins. All I can say was what the @#$%! I just had a baby—I don’t need twins right now!

The sacrifices fathers make for their children: Cleveland Remembers

My favorite memories are spending summer after summer just waiting for that annual trip to Cedar Point. My grandma and cousins would come up from Kentucky to visit, and we’d all go to Cedar Point. It was a tradition! 

My mom and grandma would walk around and watch the shows while my dad had the awesome job of walking around with 3 kids all wanting to go ride different things at the same time. 

He was always so patient though as we waited in long lines for the “beep beep cars” as I called them, or the swings which always made him sick. 

I think back at how much he must have loved me to have endured such torture. 

My grandma, and parents have passed on, but I re-live those memories every year when my husband and I make our annual trip to Cedar Point. Ever

First Trimester Reflections

The first trimester brings with it an array of experiences that are neither predictable nor entirely unenjoyable. The changes aren’t always visible but the experience is certainly significant.

My first trimester began without my knowledge, considering that the in the first two weeks of pregnancy a woman isn’t even pregnant yet. I was hoping to be pregnant but not expecting pregnancy to happen so soon. Once we got the positive pregnancy test, we were slightly surprised and really happy. The fourth week of pregnancy was simple, easy, and free of any negative symptoms. With week five came morning sickness. My morning sickness slowly evolved to include nausea, fatigue, and vomiting.
